Tween Group pureNRG Tops Christian Retail for New Artists in 2007
TIME magazine to spotlight pureNRG’s Jordan Yates in feature regarding growing popularity of vinyl records

pureNRG Nashville, TN (January 9, 2008) – 2007 was a phenomenal year for Fervent Records’ tween group, pureNRG. Debuting with their self-titled CD and releasing two video and dance DVD’s, pureNRG’s combined sales of nearly 60,000 units in seven months made them the top selling new artist at CBA retail for the year.

Just completing their first major tour with renowned group, Jump 5, this year is starting off as strong as where 2007 ended, as pureNRG will be featured on the “Winter Jam 2008” tour launching January 10 with fellow artists MercyMe, BarlowGirl and Group 1 Crew. In addition to a May 2008 cover story on the group in Brio magazine, pureNRG member Jordan Yates will be featured in this week’s TIME magazine issue in a story about the re-emergence of interest in vinyl records.

pureNRG immediately won the hearts of fans and the industry with their incredible live performances that feature their professional dance backgrounds and gymnastics. Radio Disney featured “Footloose” from their debut album and the group auditioned for Nickelodeon in New York this past fall. The group also performed this summer at Tulsa’s KXOJ Brown Bag concert, resulting in the second highest fan turnout, according to the station. Dallas’ KLTY booked pureNRG for their “Celebrate Freedom” festival and was voted by the fans as one of their top three favorite acts, along with tobyMac and Casting Crowns.

Media has also been very supportive of pureNRG with appearances on Gospel Music Channel, Good Day Atlanta, Nashville’s Tennessee Mornings/Fox 17, Atlanta Live, Focus On The Family Radio and Associated Press Radio. Reviews and features were further provided on About.com, Plugged In, Tommy2.net, CMCentral.com, JesusFreakHideout.com, All Access, Aspiring Retail, In The Times, Cross Point Magazine, TeenPlace.net, and more.
